你有没有放不下的人?

Wednesday, December 25, 2013

Initially, I wasn't looking forward to 2013 at all. 2013 started off on a horrible note, yet, surprisingly it took a huge turn for the better. And, for once since I entered vet school, I didn't have any expectations as I welcomed the year. When expectations aren't present, I was actually surprised with how different things actually turned out.

2013, you've been a blessing in disguise.

21 Happy Things:

1. Hey, I'm finally a legal adult.
2. I met new friends while volunteering in January.
3. Obtained 2 driving licenses.
4. My Uni mates are just the awesomest. Thank you guys for all your support!
5. My break is turning out to be unexpectedly awesome.
6. I got my first job.
7. I started on riding lessons. One of the best decision ever.
8. Celebrating my friends' 21st is always a blast.
9. Then ample flow of milk teas and Starbucks.
10. Learning not be so hard on myself if I didn't meet my own expectations.
11. I learned more about animals in general.
12. Making new friends on my first job- both from Operations and Zoology. My job is such a pleasant mix.
13. Learning not to have any expectations, at all- This particularly allowed me to accept things quicker and with ease.
14. Learning to deal with guests that have varying expectations and who put across their views differently.
15. Meeting guests who come from different countries and have many different experience to offer.
16. Spending more time with my loved ones.
17. Treating my family to a meal with my first pay.
18. Getting toned.
19. Being more confident about my choices, what I do and continual self-improvement.
20. I still can't believe that I received a compliment email from my first ever tour, a birthday BFT tour to be exact. Compliment emails are such a delight to receive and I'm always so motivated after!
21. Just being really happy and enjoying myself.

Thank you for a wonderful 2013. I really can't ask for more. :)

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year guys! May your Christmas be a blessed and joyful one!

Love,
Reine.

2013 is ending soon. Another month before we meet 2014!

My job is turning out fantastic. I'm so grateful for everyone who made it a bunch of fun! I think, I found my focus, my confidence once more.

It's about time I start typing up my "I'm really grateful for" list. There's so much and I don't know if I can recall all of them. I'll try to come up with at least 21 things; it's my 21st year after all. :)

See you guys really soon.

Love,
Reine.

This year is definitely a year of new experiences.

First and foremost, I got accepted for the job!!! While the application was the most nerve-wrecking, I thought that the interview part was pretty laid back. My current worries are about learning the script and hence, Tara passed me her script and I've added on knowledge that I've gained in Vet school. Without knowing it, I referred back to my University notes and did reading up... I can't be more nerdy than that. Oh well. No one can ask me to not worry. Worrying whether I would excel in my new job is what I will always do; I cannot not do.

Also, I've signed up for horse riding- a goal that I've set five years ago. Finally. This year I may actually tick off that goal on my annual "to-do" list. So stoked!!! :D
The best part? It starts tomorrow!

I hope my resume application goes well. I don't know, I get uneasy about applications all the time- as if given the chance that something might go bad, it might? The word, might. I think I got the chills and cold feet from that one time I was determined to set things right...

If it does, my holiday plans are all set. I can't fathom how blessed I am to be surrounded with such lovely friends. BFF and Eeky are so excited that I'm finally taking a break, since the past four years I've been gone. My classmates have always given me their full 100% support whenever they ask what my plans for my break are.

Reine, these all goes into the "Happiness Jar".

Having been on my red Ps for 2 months, within just the last 2 weeks, I can say I've met my fair share stupid pedestrians. I can guarantee that I'll meet more. The things pedestrians do make me wanna vomit blood. So, I've come up with the guide to being a responsible pedestrian!

Guide to being a street smart pedestrian:

1. Look left, right and left again. Be alert and attentive when crossing the roads.
(What did Kindergartens and Primary schools teach you hey?)

2. DO NOT daydream or have your headphones plugged in or be entirely engrossed in your phones when crossing the roads, even in a carparks. Again, be attentive!

3. Don't purposely dash across the roads faster when you see an oncoming car.
(If you're trying to see who's faster- you or the car, don't.)

4. Don't obstruct the roads when there are the pavements available.
(Cars can still hit you? Because you sure are standing on the wrong place; The roads don't belong to you.)

5. Cars have to give way to you, but please don't take it for granted.
You're equally responsible that you stay safe.

Simple 5 rules that guarantee you to be safer on roads. I know pedestrians have the right of way, but hey, it's also your responsibility to be safe. No?

Having been a pedestrian for the most part of my life, I don't think I've ever been very inconsiderate. I'm very paranoid about getting hit or causing a nuisance to drivers, so much they'll curse at me. For the record, I swear that I have not been cursed at yet, and always thanking drivers for giving way on road crossings. Yes, now being a driver I can totally understand when others complain or curse at stupid pedestrians. I like how pedestrians are so careless when they cross roads, because it just ingrains in my brain to be more careful.

“Sleep is such a luxury, which I cant afford.”
― Robin Sikarwar

Starting now- Time to starting running forward.

With so little time and so much to cover, keep going Reine! Because I can do this. I am gonna ace this.
